Your Question
Charlie Brown must travel 2 km to a hockey game at a farm out of town. he plods through deep snow with each step being 75 cm long. In his normal walking, the average forward force needed is about 5 N. In addition to this work each time he puts down his foot he compresses the snow by 25 cm with an average force of 200 N. This tires him out quickly. If he can normally walk 5 km before needing a rest how many rests does he need while plodding 2 km through the snow before he arrives? You may assume that he does the sam amount of work as usual between rest.
