The company producing Namebrands exploits consumer ignorance by charging $6 for each unit. Consumers do not realize that Ace is a perfect substitute for only $2. The total industry demanded for the drug is given by Q=400-40p.

a) What would be the value to consumers of knowing that Ace and the Namebrand are identical products?

b) How much is the social or deadweight loss due to the consumers' lack of perfect information?
