Your Question
Two identical conducting spheres, 1 and 2, carry equal amounts of positive charge, and are a fixed distance d, apart, large compared with their diameters. They repel each other with a force F. Suppose they are brought together in a symmetrical fashion, with a third identical, but initially uncharged, sphere 3.

a) when the spheres are then separated, how much charge is on each sphere

b)if the first two sphere are returned to their initial positions, a distance, d, apart and the third is moved infinitely far away what is the force between the two. (in terms of F)
